Landscapes - Working Outdoors
My ideas about working outdoors, whatever the weather, is finding the right angles for the composition to capturing the essence and beauty of the area I am working in. Finding the location at first is easy, but with a lot of patience and the right position, at the right time of day - the end result is acheived by working with my camera and lenses to get the end result I want. The images I create express what I see within the landscape I am working in. Of course conditions vary which means that I have to adapt my interpretation - which can often be a challenge. Over the years I have been able to travel and work in different environments - either along beautiful scenic coastlines or when the weather is stormy and difficult.
Many of my images are hanging in public spaces and buildings - including Bideford Town Council, Torridge District Council, Bideford Library, Bideford Pannier Market and the Cafe du Parc. My landscape work has been published in various magazines and used for commercial tourism print and web media - AONB (area of natural beauty), Barnstaple Heritage Museum, Devon County Council, RHS Rosemoor, Bideford Town Council and many more...
Landscape is a major part of my photography which enables me to show other people the beauty of the landscapes and coastlines of the South West of England. This image is of the Unique World Heritage Village of Clovelly.
