When Mr Ackland who has appeared in over 150 films and many times on radio and theatre invited me back to his house to take some personal portraits of him I felt extremely privileged. Whilst sitting down and having a coffee Mr Ackland talked about a few of the films he has starred in, including "Asylum", "Henry the V111", "Watership Down", and "Lethal Weapon 2". I took several portraits of him both laughing and serious. He is a great character and a gentleman and he made me feel very much at home and relaxed. He has had many exhibitions throughout the world they include The Tate Gallery in London, the British Embassy in Paris, the Burton Art Gallery, Bideford and an exhibition at DFN Gallery, and Broadway New York . The actual photographs I took were not in his studio but in his garden especially in his vegetable garden. Mr Lloyd allowed me to take some personal shots of him which are on the web-site. Graham Hobbs, a local photographer from Bideford, has had one of his photographs made into a greeting card by Medici Cards Limited, after he was selected as a winner of the Medici category of the RHS Photographic Competition 2008.
Graham, who had his photograph ‘Poppies’ chosen out of thousands of entries in the 2008 competition, has agreed to worldwide greetings card rights for the image, and is very pleased with the finished result. He says ‘I can’t believe that I am a winner of the Medici category of the RHS Photographic Competition and have had my image made into a greetings card that will be sold across the world! I told my parents straight away, as it was their poppies that I photographed in their garden in Cornwall. I am a very happy photographer!’ RHS - Rosemoor
I have done a couple of these now which I enjoy very much. They are great functions and raise lots of money for different charities. It's a great opportunity to take shots of people in all their glory a very colourful shoot and full of character. Bideford Town Council
 I was asked to take some photographs of the days events on the 40th Anniversary of "The National Trust" on behalf of "The Landmark Trust" for "Devon Life" magazine in 2009. This was an opportunity for me to capture on camera a significant moment, also this was the first time for me on the island. I caught some memorable moments from setting sail on the "RHS Oldenburg", landscapes on the island and characters on the island. This for me was a great day out.
